​How We Began:

The Alabama State Bar Family Law Section was formed in 1984 and is one of the largest and most active Sections of the Alabama Bar.



What We Do:

The Section provides access to the state-wide memberships base through an email listserv group, hosts an annual CLE conference at the beach each summer, and assists in the development and presentation of other CLE programs throughout the year.  The Section monitors legislation and appellate court opinions that affect family law practitioners and keeps section members apprised of significant legislative and case law changes.

How We Give Back:
The Section raises money and awareness for family charities throughout Alabama, sponsors scholarships for law students interested in family law and cultivates relationships between the bench and bar.
